We Joined a Drill Team?

I went out to the barn this morning to ride Ezhno and got talked into joining my stable’s casual drill team for their first practice ride of the winter season. We only worked at the walk today and I didn’t really know any of the movements going in, but it was still a lot of fun and it was great to get to ride with so many other people. It was a big reminder of some of the perks that come with owning your own horse (yay for the ability to ride with whomever I want, whenever I want!), and we got to practice some of our lateral work (turns on the haunches/forehand and sidepass) in a real life situation!

The drill team practices every Sunday for a couple of hours, so I’ll probably keep riding with them through the winter, since I think it’s a good experience for Ez and I enjoy hanging out with everyone.

Everyone was so nice and there was such a variety of horses and people.
Ez and I are the third from the right (and the only pair in English tack, lol). 🙂
