  1. Sorry to hear his recovery will take so long and you’ll have to forego jumping! But I’m really glad to hear he’ll make a full recovery. Will you be going back to leasing Belle in the meantime?

How is he taking stall rest? At least if he’s just standing around he’s looking handsome doing it! Look at that face <3 Give him a carrot and a hug from me!

    1. It kind of sucks, but at the same time there’s other things we can pursue! The vet hasn’t specifically forbade jumping, but honestly he’s pretty bad over fences anyways and I’ll feel more comfortable keeping him on the flat so that we prevent re-injuring his suspensory, since he’s built pretty poorly through his hind legs in the first place.

I’m not picking up a lease on Belle again, but I am still taking two lessons a week and I think my jumping mount has been upgraded to Boston for the future! Outside of lessons my trainers have been keeping me afloat with horses to school over the past two weeks, but I actually just inherited a project horse that they want me to work on while my guy is busy being a paperweight. She’s a huge APHA (16.2hh and built like a brick house) that’s super chill, but pretty green. I rode her in my lesson today and she’s got a bad case of the green horse wobbles—no straight lines and her steering goes out occasionally, lol.

Ezhno’s doing alright with the stall rest. He’s pretty calm in his stall, but the past couple of times I’ve gotten him out he’s been a complete spazz. The vet had to give him a mild sedative for the last lameness check because he threw a fit and tried to behead me with a couple of playful buck/kick fits. He’ll get better now that I can hand walk him (and now that I’m armed with a showmanship chain).
