After a great school on Monday, the next day Raglan came out feeling… off. He had a noticeable head bob at the walk and he felt like he was going to keel over when we trotted for a few steps, so I untacked him and put him away. The day after that he was better at the walk, but still gimpy at the trot.
The last time I had a horse be lame without any noticeable injuries or heat in the leg was when Ezhno ended up taking three months off, so I was kind of low key freaking out. Luckily, Raglan looked alright after a couple days off. We had a light ride with a lot of stretchy trot and all seemed well.
By the time the long weekend rolled around he was feeling JUST FINE.
It’s been nice to have a chill week. Sometimes you’ve just got to take a couple of hours to sit out in the sunshine and watch your horse be a horse. Peaceful days make my heart happy.
